Humans will never colonize other planets

We are not adapter to live on places such as mars, thus heavy genetic engineering is needed to the point where the creatures created are no longer human.

On mars there are hardly any athmosphere and thus humans cannot live their without relying on fragile technology 24/7, this will not work long term.

The current GE technology probably do not even allow us to create someone able to survive on mars, how do you even get rid of the oxygen requirement?

Isn't it the same kind of situation Holland is in, where they rely totally on the dikes (another fragile technology) to keep their whole country from flooding?

Of course, New Orleans was the same way, and we saw how that went.

A lot of people will die if our technological system breaks down but humans wouldn't go extinct.

If a big area get's flooded a lot of people (probably most) will still survive.

We don't need to live on other planets. We can create space habitats the size of a death star and simply use planets for their raw material. That way we can maneuver all over the solar system rather than being a stationary target for meteorites. Just send machines down to the surface to do all the resource extraction. Build unmanned factories on the surface for processing of said raw material.

TL;DR Fuck planets
